Due to the generosity of our many donors, we have had the privilege of participating in saving the lives of eleven children from various countries since 2003. We wish to express our gratitude to Gift of Life, Inc., Healing the Children, Loma Linda International Heart Institute, The Mayo Clinic, CSMC and UCLA Medical Center for allowing us the opportunity to participate in various ways such as providing grants to fund travel and limited medical expenses for selected cardiac children, recruiting and supporting host families as well as chaparones ensuring the safety of these children. Craig Small was also given the amazing opportunity to accompany the 2004 Medical Mission to Ecuador as a volunteer where he witnessed first hand the devastating need for help.

We are very excited to announce that we had the honor of participating in saving the life of our tenth child during the summer of 2006 - Raimon Made. (See photo) A great big Thank-you to "The Gift of Life International" and Loma Linda International Heart Institute for allowing us this honor.

Our most recent accomplishment has been the quest to save the life of three year old Joselyne Hidalgo from El Salvador. Joselyne and her mother arrived in the USA on March 30, 2007. Precious little Joselyne was barely hanging on to life as she was suffering from multiple severe and complex congenital heart defects. She lacked the strength to support herself to walk or even stand. Her skin was dark blue in color due to a severe lack of oxygen. A simple task such as eating would exhaust this precious child. Joselyne underwent corrective heart surgery at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota on April 5, 2007. Following her recovery, Joselyne and her mother returned home to El Salvador on June 3, 2007 where she will begin to thrive and gain strength. In approximately 1 1/2 years time, Joselyne will need to return to The Mayo Clinic for another corrective heart surgery which we hope will be her last. Joselyne returned home able to walk and her skin was a beautiful shade of pink.
